Male Arrested with BAC Over Legal Limit

On January 4th, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 37 year old Nicholas Wonch of Puddingstone Road, Desbarats for an impaired driving related offence.


Just before 6:00 p.m. the accused was involved in a motor vehicle collision on Second Line East.  It is alleged that at that time, the accused was under the influence of alcohol.  Officers arrived and administered a test from a roadside screening device at the scene.  The accused registered a fail on the device and was taken into custody.


He has been charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit.  He will appear in court on February 4th, 2019.
