The annual Rotary Santa Claus Parade will take place this Saturday, November 23, 2019. We want to remind the public there will be road closures in the downtown area to allow the parade to run smoothly. On November 18, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services Unit arrested 29 year old Jonathan Briault-Dewar of Queen Street East for driving while prohibited.Around 3:00 p.m. on November 18, 2019 officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered the accused was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. Tyler McMillanOn November 17, 2019 28 year old Caleb Seaton passed away unexpectedly in Barrie, Ontario.The investigation into the kidnapping and assault with a weapon, involving a firearm is still ongoing. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is actively looking for 32 year old Tyler McMillan in connection with the incident.Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 705-949-6300.If you see Mr. McMillan, do not approach him, call 911 immediately.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is currently investigating a kidnapping and an assault with a weapon, involving a firearm. The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Earlier today there was a heavy police presence in the area of Willowdale Street, in the east end of the city. Officers were conducting a search for the suspects and evidence.
